Abstract
Aim: The aim of this research is to evaluate and compare the needs of domestic and foreign tourists in the Isfahan city.
Material & Method: The research method is descriptive-analytical and based on collecting data through a survey. The statistical population of the research consists of two groups of domestic and foreign tourists, and considering the limitations of the research, a total of 139 tourists were studied. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire.
Finding: The results of the evaluation of tourists' views on traveling to Isfahan showed that the index of encouraging friends to travel obtained the highest score with an average of 4.079 and indicates a positive experience of tourists. A comparison between the two groups of foreign and domestic tourists showed that at a level of less than 0.05, foreign tourists are more satisfied than domestic tourists; for example, the average overall satisfaction of foreign tourists was 4.119 and domestic tourists was 3.652. There is also a significant difference in the number of trips; the average number of trips of domestic tourists was 3.347 and 1.417 for foreign tourists. In the needs assessment, the highest importance was related to access to attractions with an average of 4.352. A significant difference was also observed in some needs, including public transportation, services, and security between the two groups.
Conclusion: Overall, the results emphasize the need to pay attention to improving infrastructure services for domestic tourists and enhancing cultural experiences for foreign tourists.
Innovation: This study has comparatively emphasized the needs of domestic and international tourists, and its results can be used in planning for the creation and development of tourist services and needs.
