AbstractAim: The aim of the present study is to investigate and analyze the indicators of the health status and resilience of groundwater resources in the Ajabshir watershed of East Azerbaijan.
Material & Method: In this study, the DPSIR conceptual model was used to identify the indicators and Shannon entropy was used for weighing. Then, these indicators were surveyed in the form of a questionnaire with a Likert scale from two groups of administrative experts and rural residents. In this study, the sample unit was a rural household and the sample size was obtained with the Cochran formula of 323 households. To examine the reliability of the questionnaires in the sample basin, Cronbach's alpha value was used, which was calculated to be 0.75 for the sample basin.
Finding: The results show that the opinions of administrative experts and the main residents of the village differ in the physical resilience of the canals and springs of the region. There is a negative correlation between the tendency to use electric and diesel wells and the overall resilience of water resources. The use of electric wells explains 20% of the variance in resilience and its importance in resilience is greater than that of diesel wells. Also, participation in the repair and reconstruction of gates and the creation of new channels explains 27% of the variance in resilience.
Conclusion: The results showed that the reduction in the resilience of water resources in the study area has caused changes in the environment of the region and has generally damaged its cultun, the physical resilience of the canals will increase by 0.55.
Innovation: application of results: According to the opinions of experts and local residender participation and cooperation of the responsible organizations is recommended as a fundamental step to achieve resource sustainability.
